Gout, caused by excessive uric acid, does more than cause pain—it corrodes bones and wreaks havoc on the body. Often overlooked by doctors, this damage silently destroys patients' lives. Enter TOXIC PORTRAITS, a groundbreaking experiment unveiling gout's corrosive effects. Teaming up with artists and printmakers, we crafted custom uric acid mixtures based on patients' blood levels. Then, using these mixtures, we transformed copper plates into fine art prints, challenging doctors' traditional perceptions at medical events. This unique approach vividly portrays gout's agony and toxicity, confronting doctors with its devastating reality.
